State of Montana Maintenance Manager in Warm Springs, Montana

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity as a Maintenance Manager at Montana State Hospital. TheMaintenance Managerensures the facility buildings, grounds, equipment, and systems are operational, repaired, and maintained at Montana State Hospital. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity: · Thorough knowledge of principles and techniques of construction, building maintenance and repair, and building fixture replacement and repair; materials and supplies used in maintenance, and repair and construction. · Strong working knowledge of Hospital accreditation requirements, industry standards, Hospital policy and/procedures, financial control principles, and workplace safety and hazards · Thorough knowledge of preparation of plans and specifications for maintenance, repair and construction projects including budgetary planning and tracking. · Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and safety techniques. · Considerable knowledge of administrative and supervisory practices and techniques. · Knowledge of NFPA codes, life safety codes and state/local codes. · Efficient and cost-effective organizational skills. · Effective oral and written communication skills. · Ability to plan, coordinate, supervise, and assign work. · Ability to react quickly and appropriately to emergency situations and to handle a wide variety of emergencies and unusual events. · Meet the following minimum qualifications: o Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Facilities Management, Business, or a directly related field. § Relevant and recent (within 5 years) may substitute for education on a year for year basis. o Five years’ directly related work experience such as construction, facility maintenance, mechanical system repair, heating systems, plumbing and/or other similar operations. o Four years’ experience (within the past 8 years) managing/overseeing complex and multi-building maintenance departments, including long-term building projects, budgetary maintenance, multi-trade oversight, and regulatory/building code compliance. o Three years manager/supervisory experience (within the past 5 years) required; preferably in an institutional setting (i.e. healthcare, university, local/state/federal facility, corrections facility). o Other combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case by case basis. * * How to Apply To be considered for a DPHHS position, submit the following required documents with your application on the State of Montana Careers website.
