State of Montana Medical Records Director in Warm Springs, Montana
The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Montana State Hospital. The Medical Records Director leads the Health Information Management team, ensuring patient records are maintained according to state and federal regulations. The position ensures record retention and compliance with Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS) regulations. The incumbent oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of an electronic health record. Required for the first day of work: * Expert knowledge of best practices in record administration, management, and confidentiality. * Knowledge of personnel management and supervision. * Skill in public speaking. * Knowledge of budgeting. * Ability to identify problems and research to develop and implement solutions. * Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to coach and motivate others to improve their knowledge and skills. Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience): * Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Medical Records Management or equivalent. * Two years’ professional experience working in health information in a hospital or other related setting. * Three years' experience in a supervisory or management capacity. * Other equivalent combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis. * Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Information Technician (RHIT) as certified by the American Health Information Management Association preferred.
