State of Montana Restorative Aide in Warm Springs, Montana

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity as a Restorative Aide at Montana State Hospital. The Restorative Aide provides support and assistance to help enhance patient mobility and activities of daily living. This position helps patients with non-skilled exercise plans and activities designed to restore or maintain the function of long-term care residents who the Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist and/or Treatment Team has identified for restorative services.* * * *Why Join DPHHS Our mission at DPHHS is to serve Montanans in their communities to improve and protect the health, safety, and well-being, and to empower independence. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity: * * * Knowledge of practices and methods for providing care. * Knowledge of mental health diagnoses as well as developmental, intellectual, and physical disabilities. * Working knowledge of patient transfer techniques and safe mobilization. * Knowledge of rehabilitation therapy with emphasis on occupational therapy. * Ability to work with patients requiring different levels of assistance. * Ability to follow oral and written instructions. * Ability to maintain attention to detail and thoroughly complete work tasks. * Meet the following minimum qualifications: o High School diploma or equivalent. o 1 year experience in psychiatric patient care or in providing guidance/training to clients with developmental, mental, or physical disabilities. o Must have completed probationary period (internal candidates). o Experience working with geriatric patients preferred. * * How to Apply To be considered for a DPHHS position, submit the following required documents with your application on the State of Montana Careers website.
