State of Montana Internship MDT Aviation in West Yellowstone, Montana
The Montana Department of Transportation is recruiting for a Summer Aviation Management Internship position. All applicants must be enrolled in a College, University, or Tech School. If applicant is not currently enrolled in a College, University or Tech School the application will not be considered for a position. * One intern will be hired from this posting. * Interns will work at the West Yellowstone Airport. * Interns do not receive benefits such as paid holidays, medical coverage, earned vacation, or sick leave. Work schedule will be 40 hours a week during the summer. Please check out the following link to view the 2023 MDT Intern experiences: * : https://youtu.be/KOPAUK_pmXg?si=65MQvOQBM2j3w3sk Pay is determined by credit hours earned by the end of Spring semester 2025: 60-90 credit hours = $20.46 91 credit hours = $21.25 Summer duties to be performed: 50% Airport Operations and Maintenance 50% Airport Administrative Intern will be exposed to: Assist the Airport Manager with various Administrative Tasks Tenant Relations 14 CFR Part 139 Requirements- Certification of Airports Ground Vehicle Pedestrian Training Assist Operations Specialists with various maintenance tasks Self-inspections NOTAM reporting Airfield and facilities maintenance 49 CFR Part 1542– Airport Security Sections that intern will be rotating through: Airport Management Airport Operations Airfield Maintenance Business and Properties Wildlife Hazard Mitigation Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Student must be currently enrolled in College, University, or Tech School. Undergraduate applicants need to be at least entering junior year or have completed at least 60 credit hours. If an applicant is enrolled in a Tech School (2-year program) the credit minimum is 30 credits hours. Knowledge and skills required for this job will come from college levelcourse work in Aviation Management, Aeronautical Science, or similar aviation concentration.
