About the opportunity
SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a dependable and highly motivated Staff CAD Designer to join us in one of our Pacific Northwest locations. This position would serve the Pacific Northwest and beyond, with a focus on water resource projects. The candidate will provide AutoCad drafting support to the engineering team throughout the analysis, design, and production of river, floodplain, and wetland restoration projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail and knowledge base for developing professional design plan sets and AutoCAD drafting tasks.

What you will accomplish
- Act as lead drafting technician for all company projects involving AutoCAD.
- Develop Civil 3D plan set packages.
- Assist engineers in design drafting and deliverables.
- Modify existing plans as needed.
- Contribute to the completion of construction documents, generate revisions and corrections from redlined documents.
- Create content and design details for staff.
- Maintain support documents.
Experience and qualifications for success
- Two (2) years of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D. Education with direct, applied classwork in AutoCAD can be substituted for job experience.
- Technical drafting in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Produce various data output for analysis including profiles and cross sections.
- Work with large data sets such as lidar and imagery.
- Experience with surface model development and analysis.
- Self-motivated individual who can work well independently but also as part of a team.
- Excellent oral communication and technical drafting skills.
- Excellent data management skills.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, and preparing, editing, and formatting documents and spreadsheets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on stream or ecological restoration projects
- Experience working with an interdisciplinary team of engineers and scientists

An employee in this Whitefish, MT -based position can expect an hourly pay rate of $26.75 - $34.78/Hr. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law. Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
