PHILLIPS COUNTY ROAD POSITION AVAILABLE
Phillips County is accepting applications for one position as Road Laborer with Road District C. Applicant must live within 15 miles from the Town of Whitewater or be willing to relocate within 30 days of employment. Applicant must continue to live within that distance during employment. If offered the position, must be able to pass a physical exam and pre-employment drug and alcohol tests. Job requires employee to have or obtain Class A -- Type 2 with Air Brake endorsement driver's license within 60 days of employment.

This position would entail duties as described in the job description. The scheduled work week is Friday through Thursday; current scheduled work days are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. You will also be required to be available to be called out for emergencies.
You would be accountable to the County Commissioner in District C, and work out scheduling with the other current employees. You would report to work at the Whitewater Shop.
The current salary is $19.42 per hour. New employees work for $1 less per hour during the probationary period. Our initial probationary period is six months. If performance is not satisfactory, probationary period may be extended.
You will not be eligible for health insurance until you have completed three months of employment. Currently, Phillips County pays 100% of the premium for the employee and the family.
Sick leave accrues from the beginning of employment but may not be used for 3 calendar months. Vacation leave accrues from the beginning of employment but may not be used for 6 calendar months. You will be a member of the state retirement program from the beginning of employment..
