MISKE RANCH ANGUS General Ranch Hand in WIBAUX, Montana
Temporary full-time position from 1/15/2024 to 11/13/2024. The General Ranch Hand position will be required to perform a variety of duties related to the production of cattle and hay. Duties related to the production of livestock will include the following: check physical characteristics, observe general condition of livestock and apply the appropriate care; examine animals to detect illness/injury/disease, rate of weight gain to determine delivery time, assist in delivery and calving, apply or administer medications/vaccines, mix feed/additives, feed/water livestock in late Spring (until cattle are moved to summer range, generally by May 1st); place mineral blocks; drive equipment to haul/distribute feed/water as needed; herd livestock; confine livestock in stalls; clean/disinfect livestock corrals/stalls/sheds; dock, castrate, brand, clip/tag and clamp livestock; maintain records on animals; and hoist/stack bales of hay onto wagon/truck. General farm work will include making minor mechanical adjustments/repairs on farm machinery; repair/replace fencing and farm structures; perform general cleanup of farm acreage; drive, load/unload trucks. Most duties are performed out of doors, and may entail exposure to heat, cold, dust, rain, snow and other environmental conditions common in fields. Worker must crouch, bend, lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds. Drivers License Required.
